Landscape painting of the prairie in spring 16k

Horvick Manufacturing Company, Inc., was founded by Ben Horvick in Moorhead, Minnesota in 1955. Ben, a Norwegian immigrant who had already retired from one successful business venture, soon discovered he was not happy in retirement.

Ben started Horvicks with a single product: a rotary hammermill designed for small dairy operators. He then expanded his company by manufacturing and selling a centrifugal vacuum cleaner for grain elevators.

Ben retired (again) in 1966, selling the business to long-time employee, Dennis Erickson. Dennis took the company to a higher level, expanding the product line to include fertilizer spreaders, herbicide sprayers and anhydrous ammonia equipment.

In 1980, Dennis sold the company to Lee and Scott Erickson (his sons) and Steve Alm. They decided to relocate the company to Fargo, North Dakota in 1981.

In 1986, Tim Pederson was brought in as a partner. Together, they have built Horvicks into one of the largest and most respected fertilizer/sprayer equipment manufacturers and distributors in the upper Midwest. Today, Horvicks handles a wide variety of site specific farming accessories, from spraying nozzles to GPS receivers.

Horvicks has long filled a necessary niche for progressive farmers in the upper Midwest. With this website, we are now taking the next step in agricultural service and marketing.
